  • Mother's Birth

    Mother's Birth
    This was the day my mother was born. She was born in YueYang, China, and was born into a moderately wealthy family, with her father as a newspaper editor and her mother as a teacher. Like my father, she was born in the aftermath of the Cultural Revolution, so most people did not have much money-my mother's family was an exception.
  • Apollo 1 Fire Accident

    Apollo 1 Fire Accident
    On the 27th of January, there was an accident aboard Apollo 1 during a launch test. A flash fire occured from some sort of electrical short circuit in the crew cabin. The supposed electrical spark set afire the pure oxygen environment of the cabin, and was fed by the large amount of flammable materials in the area. All 3 crew members of the launch test were killed, sadly. The 3 crew members were Virgil I. Grissom, Edward H. White II, and Robert B. Chaffee.
  • 1970 Bhola Cyclone

    1970 Bhola Cyclone
    The 1970 Bhola (aka Bangladesh) Cyclone, is considered the world's worst tropical cyclone. The cyclone caused around 500,000 fatalities, and was largely due to the area being unprepared. Despite knowledge that meteorologists contained, it was not able to communicated to the people that were in danger of being hit. The Bay of Bengal has been known to produce many tropical cylcones, and Bangladesh has been hit many times.

    Father's Birth
    My father was born in ShaoGuan, China, into a relatively poor family that was still recovering from the Cultural Revolution, a nationwide reform led by the Communist leader of China, Chairman Mao. My father suffered through many things due to his poorness as a child.
  • Tianmen Square Massacre

    Tianmen Square Massacre
    Around April of 1989, the vast majority of China started wishing for political and economic reform. It was in April when large student-led protests and rallies started appearing outside of Tianmen Square. These protests were triggered by the death of Hu YaoBang, because he was a fighter for reform. The massacre occured on June 3-4 of 1989, where government troops attempted to suppress the protests.
  • Mother's Graduation from College

    Mother's Graduation from College
    My mother graduated from FuDan University on June 30th, 1989. Before this point, my mother had participated in the Tianmen Square protests in China, along with much of China's population. When my mother was in college, FuDan University was the 3rd best university in China-it is currently the 4th best.

    Jeffery Dahmer Found Guilty
    On the 15th of February, Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal, was convicted of crimes relating to the murders of 17 boys and men-some of which included cannibalism, and the preservation of body parts.
  • DC3 Crashes-Kills 34 Passen

    DC3 Crashes-Kills 34 Passen
    A military Dakota DC3 plane from a French island crashes at Antananarivo, killing 34 people, including the 4 crew members. Most of the airplane passengers were doctors, dentists, or orthodontists who were providing humanitarian aid to the island, Only 6 of the 40 passengers on the plane survived the crash, making this a very sad incident;

    My parents were married on July 18th, 1995. They were married in ShaoGuan, my father's hometown, and then had a large feast at my mother's hometown YueYang.

    Mother Gets Her PHD
    My mother got her PHD at HuNan Medical University in China, also known as XiangYa. This university is one of the first universities in China to start to bring in ideas of Western medicinal techniques to China.
  • Pol Pot Sentenced To House Arrest

    Pol Pot Sentenced To House Arrest
    Pol Pot was sentenced to house arrest for life during a show trial in 1997 on July 25th. Pol Pot was a dictator that ruled over Cambodia in a strict regime named the Khmer Rouge. The Khmer Rouge was a group that was mainly composed of radical Marxists (Karl Marx was essentially the starter of Communist), and caused many grievances to Cambodia. The most famous grievance was how the Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot the deaths of approximately 25% of the Cambodian population.

    Code Red Worm Observed
    The Code Red computer worm was first observed on July 15th. The worm was essentially a new type of virus that attacked Microsoft's ISS (Internet Information Services) servers. The worm replicated itself throughout the internet. By July 19th, there were around 359,000 computers infected with the virus-a fix was found for the worm quickly after it was released.

    My parents occupied their first home in America together on the 20th of July, after they moved to the country. The home was my first home, located in Wauwautosa, Wisconsin.

  • The 9/11 Incident

    The 9/11 Incident
    The 9/11 incident was a terrorist attack on the USA, where 4 planes were hijacked by affiliates of Al-Qaeda. 1 of the planes crashed, due to passengers resisting, 2 of them were rammed into the WTC Twin Towers, and 1 plane hit the Pentagon. The incident caused great changes in the TSA and our domestic security-both of which became greatly more strict, due to the fear that an incident like this would happenn again.

    Indo-US Nuclear Deal/123 Pact
    On the 27th of July, 2007, there was a pact signed that formed an agreement between India and the US concerning the handling of nuclear facilities. The deal was that if India put it's nuclear facilities under IAEA (International Atomic Energy Assocation) safeguards, then the US would provide civil support for India. Basically, it allows India to perform trade of nuclear technology/weapons with the US.

    Iran Appoints A Woman As Health Minister
    On September 3rd, 2009, Iran appointed a woman as minister of health. She was the first woman to be apointed ot the cabinet in 30 years. In Iran, woman are often face institutional discrimination due to their gender. The appointment of Marzieh Vahid Dastjerdi was a big step forward for Iran.

    I began playing Piano starting around 4th Grade, I used to play when I was young, but then I quit. In 4th Grade I decided to make the commitment to play and be good at piano.

    I was walking around the lakefront with some friends, when a large man appeared, who was walking a skunk. We all thought "how weird," so we decided to go take a look, We then decided to take a picture with it, which was the worst decision I ever made, because I was bit in the face, and had a scar for around 6 months.

    Palau Creates a Shark Sanctuary
    On the 25th of September, Palau, a small republic in Southeastern Asia, began to try to create a sanctuary for sharks. The country is banning commercial shark fishing, and is creating a safe area of around 600,000 square kilometers. Shark fin soup is a delicacy in many Asian countries, but the commercial fishing of the animal is pushing the creature to the brink of extinction.

    Vacation to Cancun, Mexico
    I went for Christmas vacation to Cancun, a tourist location in Mexico. We took a 4-day trip to the country for vacation, and mainly hung around the resort. There was interesting dishes that were served, and we got to experience the tropical weather of Mexico for a short amount of time.

    Mohammed Bouazizi Sets Himself On Fire
    On the 17th of December, 2010, a Tunisian street vendor named Mohammed Bouazizi set himself on fire as protest against a municipal official in Tunisia. This act sparked a Tunisian Revolution, and also caused many copy-cat incidents, which were mainly composed of self-immolation (sacrifice for a cause) with fire. Within hours of the incident there were protests-these protests eventually became so violent that the president fled.

    On the 20th of October, I began writing a book that was about dimensional travel. At the moment I have discontinued the project, and am planning to pick up on it later. I starting on a newer narrative right now.
  • Death of Muammar Gaddaffi

    Death of Muammar Gaddaffi
    On the 20th of October, a Libyan politician/revolutionist/leader named Muammar Gaddaffi died in the Battle of Sirte. It was unclear how he died, as there are many conflicting stories. He was captured by the NTC (National Transitional Council), and was killed while in captivity. Almost a year later, it was revealed that there actually were mass killings at Gaddaffi's death site.

    Around 1,500 People Are Killed With Chemical Weapons in Syria
    On the 14th of August 2013, the conflicts in Syria were found to be with chemical weaponry. Around 1,500 people were found dead, including children, from mustard gas, which is considered illegal in terms of warfare. The Syrian government allowed international observers to come in and destroy the country's chemical weapon stockpile.

    Russia Sends Troops to Crimea
    On the 1st of March, 2014, Russia sent troops to Crimea to protect the country from "extremist ultranationalists." It was in March when Russia annexed the territory of Crimea, and until now, has been effectively controlling/governing the area. The annexation was not a popular move, and many world leaders did not appreciate what had happened.

    Won 1st Place at Forensics State Tournament
    I'm in a club called Forensics, which is a club that is mainly for public speech/acting. I was in a category called Non-Original Oratory, which was a category in which you interpreted someone else's speech and performed it in front of a room and judge. I won 1st place at the State Tournament,
