Focus: Switching from Achieve 3000 to Study Sync for the English Department

Note: Changing from ipads in the english room to chromebooks
Week 1: Introduce and guide students through the use of StudySync. and chromebooks
Week 2: Introduction- explaining how technology will be more blended into reading, assessments for reading comprehension, quick writes (“blasts”), and essays.
Week 3: Blast 1- Guided Instruction (Go slow, model, and check to see that students are able to accomplish this before assigning independently)
Week 4: Blast 2- These blasts will be tied into the -
Week 1: In small group instruction introduce annotating in Studysync to keep their notes for the essay
Week 2: Move StudySync into use with independent stations and small group instruction.
Week 3: Include direct instruction and group rotation practice of the use of polls in this program.
Week 4: Teach students how to properly provide anonymous feedback to challenge yet support their classmates. (provide a Dos and Don’ts) -
Week 1: Instruction on writing essays in StudySync (Working on one paragraph)
Week 2: Paragraph check in and continue on to paragraph 2
