Spring Valley High School JWVG students spent a day at Huntington's Kitchen for Career Exploration Day this week. Huntington's Kitchen was originally "Jamie's Kitchen" - constructed for the first season of Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution. Huntington's Kitchen is now a cooperative effort of Cabell Huntington Hospital and Marshall University. Not only is the facility used for University classes, but community classes are offered, as well as events like Career Exploration Day.

WVU Extension Wayne County, Teen Cuisine is a multi-week class designed to teach teens how to prepare their own healthy meals and snacks.

Spring Valley High School JWVG students explored STEM careers through the Ashland Community and Technical College's Mobile Technology Lab on Monday. STEM is a family of career choices that involve Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. There are jobs at every ability and education level in STEM careers, and they are jobs that employers often find difficult to fill.
