The Sputnik was the first orbiting artifical satellite to reach earth. Its advantage was that it gave communication back to earth and was able to send radio singnals within 23 days. The disadvantage was that it was a lot of money. -
First Man to Orbit
NASA austronaunt Alan Shepard was the first American to come up to space. The advantage was getting a person to come to see space and tell everyone. The disadvantage could also be money and for the spaceship carrying him to crash. -
The First Man to Orbit the Earth
NASA astronaunt John Glenn was the first American to orbit earth. The advantage is someone knowing the way to orbit. The disadvantage is that it was complication of dying and the Cold War. -
Apollo 1 Crash
While setting off to go in fire the Apollo 1 crew died. The advantage was the crew trying to go explore space for our information. The disadvantage was putting all this time going to space but failing while trying to get there. -
Luna 9
Soviet Unions Spacecraft Luna 9 was the first soft land on the moon. The advantage is soft landing and not destroying the moon for the first time. The disadvantage was the money and knowing that there could be a part of the moon that is rough because of not softlanding. -
Apollo 11 Landing
Apollo 11 Lunar Module Eagle lands on the moons Sea of Tranquility. The advantage was discovering a new place on the moon. The disadvantage was not knowing how it was made or what it was made for. -
China's FIrst Austronaunt
China sends firstastronaut Yang Liwei into space. The advantage is new people other than americans are going up to space. The disadvatage is it potintually crashing. -
Spaceship 1
Spaceship one makes a private fund suborbital flight into space. The advantage is sending a new spaceship for a cause. The disadvantage is not making the money sending the ship up to space. It is a private fund so they are paying for it.
