  • The Final Straw

    Mohamed Bouazizi engages in self immolation in protest after a police officer confiscated and shut down his fruit stand, despite the fact that Mohamed violated no laws whatsoever. This martyr set of strings of outraged violence in many countries, and soon outright revolutions were taking place all over.
  • Syria and the Civil War

    This date is only the beginning of an all out war in Syria. The people's protests led to many leaders thrown from power - however, many members of the Syrian Army left them and formed the Free Syrian Army. One member made his intentions known by killing a soldier and eating his heart on camera, which was the ultimate declaration of unrest. To this day the savages within the FSA continues to fight back and retrieve power from the dictator backed military.
  • Libya's Civil War

    Violence erupts in Libya, and the citizens rose to kill Qaddafi after decades of tyrannical leadership. The resistance is successful, killing him. The leader did not disarm his militia, and soon divided them up. They now wage war to this day for control of the country.
  • Yemen Elects a New Leader

    More peaceful revolution occured in Yemen, with protests leading to Ali Abdullah Saleh holding an election, where the people chose a new leader, Abd al-Rab Mansur al-Hadi. For this he was saved from prosecution due to his crimes.
  • Summary Paragraph

    The significance of the Arab Spring is massive. They are the definition of how to act when the government gets out of control, fully embracing ideals of John Locke and Rossieu. The Arabic uprising has bettered the lives of so many people... and also left so many people war torn, with no solid ground ahead. It's the greatest example of human behaviour - to better our circumstances, worsen others', and take advantage of oppertunities arising, no matter what the cost.
