This was a conflict becuase, John Brown was caught and hanged. Northerners were thrilled with his campaign against slavery. Southerners were distressed that the U.S. would support abolishing the law.

This was a conflict becuase they ruled that he was not a citizen of the United States because he was not white so he couldnt sue.
