    The first world cup was held in Uruguay. Only 7 teams participated and it was a 17 day tournament. In the finals Uruguay beat Argentina 4-2.

    The second World cup was held in Italy where you had to qualify to participate. Only 16 teams participated in the tournament. In the finals Italy beaty Czeckslovakia 2-1

    The third world cup was held in France. Uruguay and Argentina were unable to participate in the tournament because it was held in Europe. Spain was unable to participate also due to the civil war. In the finals of this World Cup Italy beat Hungary 4-2.

    The Fourth World Cup was held in Brazil. Only 13 nations participated in this tournament. Uruguay faced Brazil in the finals beating them 2-1.

    The fifth World Cup was held in Switzerland. Only 16 nations showed up and 124 goals were scored in only 24 matches. In the the finals West Germany beat Hungary 3-2.

    The sixth World Cup was held in Sweden. Brazil won the tournament with there 17 year old player Pele who scored 6 goals and scored 2 in the finals. Brazil beat sweden 5-2.

    John F. Kennedy was the youngest man ever to become President of The United States. He beat republican Vice President Richard Nixon.

    The seventh World Cup was held in Chile. Brazil won the tournament again making it there second cup in a row. Pele was unable to play most of the tournament due to a serious injury. Brazil beat Czechslovakia in the finals 3-1

    On November 22 1963 John F. Kennedy was assasinated as he rode in a motorcrade through Dealy Plaza in Down Town Dallas, Texas.

    The eighth World Cup was held in England. This was the first World Cup that had a mascot. There mascot was called "World Cup Willie." England beat West Germany 4-2 in the finals. This is widely known as the best finals of all the World Cups.

    The tenth World Cup was held in West Germany. A new trophy was designed for this World Cup. It was designed by Silvio Gazzaniga. Crushing Brazil and Italy to the finals was West Germany. In the finals West Germany beat Holland 2-1. This made it there second cup.

    The twelfth World Cup was held in Spain. Diego Maradona made his World Cup tribute. Italy went against West Germany in the finals. Italy joined Brazil with three cups. Italy beat West Germany 3-1.

    The thirteenth World Cup was held in Mexico. Mexico stepped in for struggling Colombia, after the Colombians announced they could not afford to host the tournament. Diego Maradona is now known as the greatest and dirtiest players because of his Hand of God goal. Argentina beat West Germany 3-2 in the finals

    This World Cup is known as the worst World Cups in the entire world. It was held in Italy again. In the finals West Germany beat Argentina 1-0.

    The fifteenth World Cup was held in The United States. This tournament gave birth to the MLS. This was depressing for Italy because Brazil beat them in a penalty shootout. This made it Brazil's fourth cup. Missing the final penalty was Italy's Robert Baggio.

    The sixteenth World Cup was held in France. Ronaldo came in as the best player in the world, but the mystery surrounding what happened in the minutes before the final with France still draws many questions. Zidane came out as the big winner of this World Cup, leading France’s Golden generation to the nations’ first World Cup. France beat Brazil 3-0 in the finals 3 from zidane and 1 from Petit.

    This World Cup was held in Japan and South Korea. France failed to get out of the group stage. They didn't score one on thier 3 matches. Brazil beat Germany 2-0 in the final, making it their fifth World Cup triumph, with Ronaldo scoring twice, marking his fantastic comeback from multiple injuries since the ’98 World Cup.

    The eighteenth World Cup was held in Germany. Italy beat Germany 2-0 in the semi-finals. In the finals Italy beat France in a penalty shoot-out. This made it Italy's fourth cup. The most memorable moment of that final, and probably that World Cup, was Zidane’s headbutt into the chest of Materrazzi.

    This World Cup was held in South Africa. Italy didn't make ot out of the group stages. In the finals Spain beat Holland 1-0 in over time. This made it Spain's first cup.
