The first slaves to arrive to America was in 1619 and they were slaves until slavery ended around 1865. They arrived to America on ships that had very bad conditions. Many got sick and died on the ships. The people who got to America, were auction off as soon as possible. Slaves were also treated poorly and had no respect.
