In the battle of Heligoland Sir David Beatty played a significant roll. Beatty used twent-seven ships to attack a german naval base. The germans lost three ships and a destroyer. The british only had one ship dmaged the "Arethusa" but this ship was towed away to safety. -

The Germans decided to attack spying english ships disguised as dutch fishermen. The British got word of the germans plans. The british sent out Beatty and Jellicoe to intersept them. The germans saw the british and retreated immediately. The british chased them and fired on them focusing on the german "Blutcher". Both sides made improvements after realising their flaws in this battle. -

David Beatty had orders. Beatty was to attack the german ships in Jutland. If he was forced to flee he would go north. Waiting north was the grand fleet to destroy the german ships. Beatty was forced north and the germans followed. When the Germans saw the grand fleet they made a sudden turn and ran. The Grand Fleet could not catch up to these ships then ending the 'Battle of Jutland'. -

In the battle of Verdun the germans tried to take this huge french base. The french had lost close to three hundred and sixty men by the end of the battle. The germans lost close to three hunded and fourty thousand men in this long battle. By the end of october the French had taken back the land. -
