Signifigant Literacy Experinces

  • Toddler

    I learned to read as a toddler. I was taught by my mom, dad, and grandmother. I did not attend a preschoool.

  • One Year Before Kindergarten

    I learned how to write and read all of the letters in the alphabet.

  • Kindergarten

    I learned a substantial amount of words and became a more fluent reader with the help of my teacher.

  • Elementray School

    I started to write poetry.

  • Middle School

    When I entered Middle School I started to read novels.

  • Teenager

    I Won first place in a poetry contest in my school. I competed with students from other schools in my district. In the end I won first place for the most creative piece.

  • Highschool Years

    I had my first poem published in a literary magazine.

  • Last Year of Highschool

    I scheduled my SAT's, but I was so stressed preparing that I became ill and had to reschedule.

  • Pre-College

    I finally was able to take my SAT's and I recieved a good score.

  • Acceptance Letter

    I sucessfully wrote a college exam essay and submitted it to the University of Pittsburgh and was accepted into that college.
