    Mosaic Browser turned into Netscape
The browser Mosaic was created which later turned to Netscape. Netscape is the first browser I ever used on a computer and I remember using it at my best friends house in her father's office. It was the first time I remember touching a computer!
  • AOL-Instant Messanger

    AOL-Instant Messanger
I first used Instant Messenger in 1999 and I send a message to one of my high school classmates. It was awesome to be able to communicate and see what the other person was saying immediately. I do remember there were many times I would be "logged off" and have to log back in.
  • Blackberry Smartphone

    Blackberry Smartphone
BlackBerry was released and allowed people to send and receive email, make calls, send texts, and browse the web. I vividly remember my father receiving a call on his while we were at the movie theater and he wasn't quite sure how to answer the phone. It was a comical time for my brother and myself as we watched him attempt to figure it out.
  • Skype Created

    Skype Created
Skype was created in 2003 and the first time I remember hearing of it I was in college at Marshall University studying my undergraduate degree. The first time I saw it in use was in a friend's apartment as he "Skyped" his brother to show a group of friends how it worked and what he was able to do. I was fascinated. This creation has allowed my family to watch my children grow in "real-time" and has kept us connected even though we live far from one another.
  • First Tweet on Twitter

    First Tweet on Twitter
Twitter is an online news and social networking site where people communicate in short messages called tweets. Tweeting is posting short messages for anyone who follows you on Twitter, with the hope that your messages are useful and interesting to someone in your audience. Twitter allows me to stay connected and on top of current events as they get tweeted about frequently by those I follow.

  • Online Courses

I began taking courses online to obtain my Master's Degree through Marshall University. It has allowed me to become connected to people across the world and has allowed collaborative learning to take place.
