  • Language Barriers

    How to avoid: Try to communicate as clearly as possible, with terms that the other person can understand. Try to use common terminology (Textbook 10).
  • Psycologocal Barriers

    How to avoid: Use stress management techniques. Avoid being angry while entering conversation. Be confident (Textbook 11).
  • Physical Barriers

    How to avoid: Shorten distance between you and other person as much as possible. Use technologies to get as close to face-to-face interactions as possible (Textbook 11).
  • Attitudinal Barriers

    How to avoid: Be open minded. Find motivation and avoid personality conflicts while communicating (Textbook 12).
  • My Run-In With a Psycological Barrier

    When i wanted to hang out with my friends, I asked my parents. They said that I had to mow the lawn before I could go, but I had just mowed the lawn 4 days ago. Between my dad, my brother and me, we mow our lawn three times a week. I thought that if I missed a day, it would be no big deal, so I got mad and started arguing. I did not end up being able to hang out with my friends and instead got grounded.
