Major School Shootings Timeline

  • Columbine High School Shooting

    Eric Harris (18) and Dylan Klebold (17) killed twelve students and one teacher at their high school. They injured twenty-one additional people. Eric and Dylan committed suicide at the end of the shooting.

  • Santana High School Shooting

    Charles Andrew Williams (15) fatally shot two students and wounded thirteen others in his high school.
  • Red Lakes Shootings

    Jeffery Weise (16) shot and killed his grandfather and his companion in his grandfathers house. He then went to his Red Lake Senior High School and and killed five students, one teacher, and one security guard. Weise wounded seven other people and then committed suicide.
  • Virginia Tech Shooting

    Seung-Hui Cho (23) shot and killed thirty-three students and staff members at the college he attended, Virginia Tech. Cho wounded seventeen others and later committed suicide.
  • Northern Illinois University Shooting

    Steven Kazmierczak (27) shot and killed a total of five people at Northern Illinois University. Kazmierczak injured twenty-one total people, then proceeded to commit suicide.
  • Oikos University Shooting

    One L. Goh (43) was accused of fatally shooting seven students and wounding three others at Oikos University. Goh was later deemed mentally unfit for trail and was committed for treatment.
  • Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting

    Adam Lanza (20) killed his mother at their home in Newtown, Connecticut. Lanza then went to Sandy Hook Elementary and killed twenty first graders and six staff members. Two others were injured in the attack. Lanza then proceeded to commit suicide.
  • Marysville Pilchuck High School Shooting

    Jaylen Fryberg (15) fatally shot four students in the school cafeteria, injured one, then committed suicide.
  • Majory Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting

    Nikolas Cruz (19) fatally shot seventeen people and injured fourteen others at his former high school, Majory Stoneman Douglas High School.
