I lost my 1 month old brother to SIDS

Aaron Michael Burley was one month old. I remember the whole incident well. I was in about first grade. I woke in the middle of the night to an ambulance at my home with a brother on the girdy. I thought it was my other brother. It wasn't, because he and my two sisters and I went to my grandparents over the next couple days as my parents went to the hospital with Aaron. I can vividly recall their conversation to us as they informed us...

Choir!

Music Notes/Choir Choir, and music in general, is rooted in my veins; I sing! I know basic piano (REALLY basic), and I'd like to eventually become proficient! I have been in CHOIR since I started school. Until 6th grade, I was in a church choir. 7th grade until present, I have been in school choirs.

Light Bulb (symbol)Extended Learning Program (ELP) was a proud moment for me. This was a program I was in through 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. It was for those who teachers called 'gifted'; I do not prefer this term because ALL students have gifts. This was a challenging extension to my education but such a proud experience for me!

Shaved off eyebrows--ALL of them

I was trying on my 'first day of sixth grade' outfit, and compelled to look older, I wanted to trim my eyebrows. Not having used a tweezer, I grabbed a razor. Yes...after evening, and evening, and evening the brows more, I shaved them ALL off--at least they were even! (sorry could not find the picture I have without the brows...kind of glad!).

"Camp Incident" (description)

I was molested at a church camp. I had just finished 7th grade. DO NOT WORRY. It could have been worse. And out of the incident, I learned to forgive and even in not understanding the WHY, I started to become more diligent in my Christian faith.

Went to NYC; Sang at Carnegie Hall!

This trip was about $1500 per person. BUT MY SISTER AND I BOTH WENT! this image is my FAVORITE from the trip. Out of this trip I: Met a stranger who ironically also came from an AZ choir and is now one of my best friends, figured out I wanted to pursue music PROFESSIONALLY (not anymore), and sang at an iconic venue!
