Nicholas the second was crowned czar of Russia after his father died in 1894. His father was named Alexander the III and also didn't have the support of the revolutionary citizens of Russia.

On Sunday, January 22, 1905 workers that lived in St Petersburg gathered on the czar's palace with a list of things they wanted to change. The czar's soldiers responded to this by opening fire on the protesters,killing 130 of them. This day is now known as Bloody Sunday.

World War 1 begins due to the killing of Franz Ferdinand. Many countries were dragged into the war because they were allies of Serbia and austria-hungary.

This began in St Petersburg when angry women started protesting having to stand in line for bread then men from the factories joined them. Soon every worker in St Petrograd was on strike. Students and members from the middle class joined in. When soldiers were sent to stop the riot the soldiers decided to protest too. As a result of the uprising the Duma was ended. Nicholas then created a temporary government called the Provisional Government. This form of government was mostly made up of the middle class, leaving the lower working class to support other organisations like the Petrograd Soviet.

The bolshevik party was shaped by leninism. They decided to rename their party soon before they created the Red side of the war. They changed their name to create a classless society based upon the writings of Karl Marx.

Czar Nicholas II gave up power in 1917. he does this because he had already lost the control and support of his army, citizens, and his government.

In april Lenin returned to Petrograd after 10 years of being away. He initially left due to growing disconsent of the revolution.

Lenin decided to overthrow the Provisional Government when the All-Russia Congress of Soviets met in Petrograd. The night before the soviet troops blocked off all exits from the city, the next morning Lenin announced that they were taking over and the government surrendered by the end pf the day.

Lenin ordered anyone to arrested anyone who was suspected to be against the revolution. At this time it was legal to kill any prisoner, due to this about 300,000 "prisoners" were killed. This included the czars whole family.

The communists decided to create six self-governing republics. The russian civil war ends after the Reds defeat the Whites and the Greens join the republics with Russia.

Lenin suffered three strokes in his life time. He ended up dying from his third one. -
