Alexander was an autocrat ruler, meaning only he had power in Russia. He also sought out to prosecute all the jews in Russia. He might have helped cause the Bolshevik revolution because he made citizens not like how Czars ruled.

A similar ruler to his father, Nicholas was also a supporter of absolute monarchy and called peoples' wishes of democracy "senseless dreams". He was quite a poor leader and did not care how his subjects were.

Russia and Japan were both at war over northern China territory. Japan won, thanks to their strong navy fleet. The defeat caused more uproar among Russian citizens, which further helped the Bolshevik revolution happen.

In Jan, 1905, 200k workers marched over to Nicholas's winter palace and demanded better working conditions. When they got there, police shot and killed 100 people, and 3,000 more were injured.

This weak legislative body was created by Czar Nicholas to satisfy the people and get them to believe that his power was now shared. However, the Legislative Duma was quite weak in comparison to the Czarist power.

Russia enters the WW1 in July of 1914 on the side of the allies. Although compared to the other nations' powers, Russia was still industrializing and as a result was poorly equipped to fight. The Russian people were mad at Nicholas for dragging them into the war.

Rasputin becomes friendly with the royal family in Russia and starts giving out orders that would normally be assigned by the Czar. The people get very angry with him and some assassins first try to poison him, then they try to shoot him, then they drown him.

The czar steps down from his throne because of all the unrest and protesting from his subjects. The Czar was a weak ruler and he didn't have much support either.

Led by Vladimir Lenin, the bolshevik party overthrew the Czarist autocracy rule and established a provisional government. However, this new government was weak and the Soviets were gaining power.

Lenin's army (red army) vs White army (loose allies, pro-monarchists, and capitalists.) After winning the war, the Bolsheviks could continue to form the USSR.
