The American hip hop recording artist Russ was born on September 26, 1992 in New Jersey. Russ is an Italian American with a Sicilian ancestry. -
Early Life
Russ lived in New York, North Carolina, and Kentucky. His family constantly had to relocate due to his father's career. By 1999, his family found a permanent home in Atlanta, Georgia. Russ started writing raps in his notebook at age 7 and making beats at age 14. He recorded hos first song at age 18. -
Early Career
His early inspirations were G-Unit, 50 Cent, and Eminem. Russ produced beats for around 6 years before he attempted to record himself rapping. Russ is known for all of his songs being produced, mixed, mastered, engineered, written, and performed, by himself. Most of his songs contain hip hop and R&B elements, while combining rapping and singing on the hook. -
What They Want
Russ partnered with Columbia Records in 2016 and released the single "What They Want" which peaked at number 83 on the US Billboard Hot 100. -
Losin' Control
After Russ's single "What They Want", he released another single by the name of "Losin' Control" that peaked number 63 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and is currently his highest charting single. -
There's Really A Wolf
On May 5th, 2017, Russ released his debut album "There's Really A Wolf". The album was anounced on April 19th, 2017. All but four of the songs on the album were brand new releases that Russ had recorded and saved from the public eye for a span of two years. -
Wake Up Tour
Prior to releasing his album, Russ announced on his Twitter account that he would be headlining his own world tour from May 16th to August 5th, 2017.
