    When Octavian was the only one left it started the Age of Augustus which lasted from 31 BC-14 BC. He gave all the power back to the Senate and became very popular with the people.

    After Caesar died there was a struggle of power so three new people came to power in the Second Triumvirate. They were Octavian, Antony, and Lepidus. Antony commits suicide and Lepidus was pushed away.

    Both brothers tried to help with the social and economy crisis. They were both very unpopular in the Senate were assassinated.

    The Third Punic war started and the Romans wanted complete destruction of Carthage. In 146 BC they got their wish.

    Hannibal decided to attack Rome. He has 46,000 troops, horses, and elephants. He chose to go through the Apls, which wrecked his army. Rome crushes Hannibal at the Battle of Zama.

    In 241 BC the Romans won the war and Carthage paid a fine. They gave up Sicily.

    After 200 years of war, by 264 BC, the Romans defeated the Greeks and controlled all of Italy.
