Reading History

  • Prior to School

    Before I had started school my mom would read to me in spanish since it was my first language.
  • Pre-K to 1st Grade

    I entered school and learned the english alphabet, phonics, and pronunciation.
  • 2nd Grade

    I finally become confident in English and find my favorite book, Knuffle Bunny.
  • 3rd Grade

    I start to explore more books and find a series of books I like to read "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus"
  • The Public Library

    My mom signs me up to the public library to continue my learning and I start to find more books and eventually am above grade level in reading.
  • 4th Grade

    Ms.Hernandez works hard with me everyday and pushed me to succeed in all subject changing my life around and ignites the love for school.
  • 5th Grade

    Ms.Hernandez follows my class to 5th grade and pushes me to read chapter books, my first chapter book read independently was "Because of Win Dixie".
  • Middle School

    I enter advanced ELA classes and my mom continues to push me to read my required books. Staying up late nights to read them outloud to her.
  • Highschool

    Ms.Hailey in high school changes my love for ELA eventually landing me to take ELA classes a grade level above my freshman year.
  • As an Educator

    I want to make reading fun and magical as my teachers and mom made it for me, so I try to be as dramatic as possible when reading to make it engaging and give incentives for reading books on their own at home.
