  • First Radio Signal

    Marconi created and sent the very first radio signal in 1895. He is known as the creater of the radio. He was an Italian inventor.
  • Audion Tube

    Lee de forest made a audion tube. It was something that amplified sigbnals and made things sound better. Someone else is thought to of made it, but no one has proven that.
  • Titanic

    When the titanic was out, if there was no radio then everyone on the ship would have died. But because there were radio signals being sent out during the time, the people that escaped were able to be saved later on.
  • First Radio Station

    The first radio station was created just 25 years after Maconi sent out the first radio frequency. The station was first named 8XK then later renamed KDKA and is broadcasting today on AM1020 out of Pittsburg, Pensylvania.
  • Dawn of Advertising

    First advertisement was in 1922. It was ten minutes long and was charged with $50
  • Uncle Charlie

    Uncle Charlie, the name of personal radio stations which now do not exist. People used to make their own radio stations from their basements, and it would interfere with the original stations.
  • Radio Waves

    AM Radio Waves - Amplitude Modulation 535 KHz - 1605 KHz. The waves move up and down and stay the same with distance between the waves. They use it to do talking radio stations.
  • FM Waves

    FM waves stand for frequency modulation.From 88-108MHz(Mega hertz). They move close and towards each other with no difference in the distance of up and down.
  • FRC

    Uncle Charlie was getting in the way of privately owned stations. The FRC organized the licensing of transmiters. They also assigned station frequencies, call letters, and power limits to each station.
  • Call Letters

    Call letters made the radio stations start with either a K or a W depending on the location. If the station was East of the Mississippi River then it started with a W, if it was West of the river than it started witha K.
  • Golden Era

    The Golden Era happened in the middle of the Great Depression, in the 30s and 40s. It helped people with providing information and other important stuff that the public needed to know.
  • First Electric Guitar

    Adolph Rickenbacker produces first electric guitar; Bell Labs creates first stereophonic sound recordings
