    Electricity can be transmitted into electromagnetic waves
    Heinrich Hertz proved that electricity can be transmitted in electromagnetic waves. He showed tests in sending and receiving these waves through the late 1880s.  He proved it by James Clerk Maxwell's electromagnetic theory of light.

    Guglielmo Marconi applied for patent protection of his radio equipment. He established the Wireless Telegraph and Signal Company in 1897.  Many still think Tesla invented the radio .

    On Christmas eve, Reginald Fessenden(Canadian Inventor ) used the alternator-transmitter to sent out a small program from Brant Rock. it included a record player of Ombra mai fu by George Frideric Handel, followed by Fessenden himself playing Holy night on the violin. He also read the biblical account of the birth of Christ.

    KDKA was the first radio station in the united states. It was located in western Pennsylvania, and the slogan was the voice of Pittsburgh. Four men ran the first broadcast( William Thomas, John Frazier, R.S. McClelland, Leo Rosenberg.
