He sold his invention to the marine industry, so if any ships had accidents, needed to get in touch with land, or report something they could. It ended up helping the titanic incident when the boat crashed into the iceberg. They called and rescue teams were able to save some people, -
Radio Station finally here!
In order for sound to come out and be loud, they had to put the microphone next to the phonograph and play music out loud over the station. It was at first name the 8XK then later renamed KDKA. The station is still there 'till this day. -

This is the time when businesses starting to pay radio statons to advertise their products and etc. Each time the advertisment aaired it would cost the business $50. WEAF would at least air these commercial/advertisments or toll for ten minutes. Nowadays they're very expensive to air. -

Since everyone was wanting to create their own radio station(Uncle Sam) they had to create a system. They had to in 1927, organize/create licensing of transmitters , also going even further to assign radio stations, frequencies, call letters, and power limits. -

The Golden Era was when everyone wanted to listen to the radio. the time frame was sometime when they were going through war and whats known as "The Great Depression". The radio, back in day help people get away from their problems during this era. -

Late 30s. The TV overtook the radio's popularity, the voice actors they were use to hearing on the radio all the time was greatly different from their actual character on TV. Many people were disappoined ted by this and hated it. -

Music literally saved the radio industry. Music being played was dfferent much from how it is now, they were limited to: jukeboxes, records and live concerts. But no since music was now on the radion it was an explosion of popularity. -

The event of Pearl Harbor, was broadcasted by a reporter in honolulu KTU. He called New York to broadcast his call about what was happening on the scene. -

Major Edwin Armstrong created the FM transmitter that made a stronger signal and sound. The government forced people who had regular TVs switch to Digitial. -
