    President george washington issued an announcment that the U.S stay out of the British and frenchs war. This resulted in the British capturing U.S. sailors and forcing them into the navy.

    President John Adams issued law to secure security of nation. Many thought he did it to limit critissisim on his president administration. It took many rights away from foreigners. This resulted in people crittisizeing laws as a way for Adams and his political party to takeaway votes from opposing political parties.

    In 1801 Tripoli declared war against U.S. President Thomas Jefferson raised size of the navy and sent war ships to attack Tipoli. In 1805 the war ended with the U.S and Tripoli signing a peace treaty.

    During this time more and more settlers settled in the north west territory. The Indians were pushed off their lands.
    Soon with 400,000 settlers the land was lost to the settlers and the Indians could no longer get the land back.

    John Quincy Adams approved the Tarrif. The tarrif made forign goods more expansive. As a result lots of people lost money especially the southern states.
