    A bill propossed by repersentative David Wilmont form Pennsylvaina would out law slaery in any territory won from the war with Mexico, never became law but lead to the creation of the Free Soil Party; Witch won 10 seats in congress!!!

    To please the North; California was admited a free state and Wasignton D.C. would abolish slavery, To please the South; congress could not pass laws regaurding slavery won from Mexico and would pass the Fugitive Slave Act. Comprimise of 1850 would not have been passed without the help of Stephen A. Douglas!!!
