First day. Raring to go. Bought loads of files, have been reading throughout the summer, when I get the chance (first daughter born on the 24th July). Can't wait!

Interesting to see how it has changed. When I was at school we played full games, such as hockey. Now there are specially designed smaller versions.
-
Using the Bee Bots with my nieces. They are intuitive to use and can be used for teaching directional language as well as programming skills to older children. younger children just want to play with them.
-
Trying to fit everything I can on to the pages. A bit tricky to work out how to embed some things.
-
Observing and helping in a phonics lesson. Must remember that ICT can not be relied on. The IWB did not work.
-
Have now downloaded the IWB software. Very impressed. Have used it to create brief hide-me games. Can see it being very useful in the classroom, particularly for timers and starters but must be careful not to use it for the sake of using it.

Teaching a maths session in a high achieving school. No ICT but got my first taste of printing and laminating my own resources. The children seemed to enjoy the lesson and, more importantly, seemed to have a better grasp of adding two numbers to 100 at the end than they did at the beginning.
-
TA'd for an ICT lesson on using spreadsheets. Gave the maxim that 'you put the formula in the cell you want the result to appear' as well as helping them troubleshoot. Perhaps have key formula/maxims on a working wall for them.
-
First teach today. Will be using lots of ICT, particularly internet videos of earth and simulations of Earth's orbit. Will also use to produce graphs, etc.
-
Using the IWB for the start of all lessons. A very effective way to display the learning challenges.
-
Using the IWB for shape. Using images of shape on the board and then manipulating those images with http://illuminations.nctm.org/Activity.aspx?id=3521
-
Using a CD with poetry on to discuss the poetry. Highlighting poetic techniques on the IWB with the drawing implements.
-
SEN using http://www.primaryresources.co.uk/online/longshape3d.html
to identify 3D shapes. -
Teaching my first ICT session today - Spreadsheets.
this will hopefully give me some idea of what the children can already do. -
Follow-up lesson to last week. Children's ability seems to follow the Maths ability grouping. I need to focus on delivery of the lesson. How will they learn?
-
ICT lesson. Children to produce spreadsheet to finance a theme park (all day theme). Examplar on IWB for children to use, paired work for most, except LA who will work as a group. Use add adults to focus support.
