My family and I had to leave Boston after two years, to return to Israel. This was one of the most shocking experiences in my life, since I was unaccustomed to living in Israel, a place incredibly different from Boston. Upon moving back to my home country, my family was determined to move again to find a better life, which did not happen until 9 years after this momentous event.

This was interestingly one of the most memorable international events in my life. Japan was devastated by a magnitude 9 earthquake, leading to a tsunami and the loss of thousands of lives. I remember reading about the event in the news and learning about it in class.

John Tory was elected as the new mayor of Toronto, replacing Rob Ford. This is one of the most significant events that have happened in the GTA since I moved here.

In this election, Justin Trudeau was elected to be the new Canadian Prime Minister. Although I do not know much about the state of Canada while Stephen Harper was the Prime Minister, the 2015 elections are undeniably a notable event in recent years.
