    As a toddler (3 years old) I would go outside and attempt to make a basket. For hours I would stand in front of the hoop and shoot until it went in. From there, I knew that basketball would not only become a hobby, but a part of who I am.

    Barack Obama, 47 at the time, was elected as the 44th U.S president in 2009, marking the first ever African-American president. Due to this election, as Obama stated, the world changed, showing everyone that possibilities are endless, even if they did seem impossible years in the past.
  • Oldest Skeleton Uncovered

    Oldest Skeleton Uncovered
    The 3.8 million year old A. anamensis was found in Ethiopia. With the shape and features of an ape, but missing the lower jaw, this made many questions arise, and turned the heads of millions. This was even more proof to Charles Darwin's theory of evolution.

    UK Men's Basketball NCAA Champs
    My whole life has consisted around UK basketball, from tears in the final four, to champions, and so on. Although, the happiest day of my life as a UK men's basketball fan was on April 2, 2012. After a great season, my whole family on my dad's side, and I, gathered around, cheering, and holding up one finger, as confetti fell on the UK men's basketball players.

    Michael Jackson Hologram
    Five years after the death of Michael Jackson, a hologram was created and viewed at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. This marked one of the first ever practice of recreating an artist's performance through this sort of technology. He was viewed moonwalking and singing in one of his prior performances. This was the step towards new technology.

    Move to Elwood, Indiana
    After settling in Central Noble for 5-6 years, my family and I were heading off to a new place. Though it was a sad day, this move changed me as a person - for the better. There I met friends that will stick with me for life. The laughs and memories i shared with cousins and friends will forever stay in my mind and heart.

    Meeting Tyler Ulis
    At the time, Tyler Ulis was a UK Men's Basketball player. Although, he was different then most. He was a 5'11 guy who dominated. During this time period, I was the shortest one on the court. So, I looked up to him as a player, showing that size doesn't matter. To meet my idol is a day I will never forget.
  • Manchester Bombing

    Manchester Bombing
    During a concert in which Ariana Grande was performing, a guy by the name of Salman Abedi, otherwise a terrorist. This suicide bomber killed 23 humans and injured over 800. Later, Ariana Grande took action to memorialize the lives lost. This attack changed the safety of many more concerts to come.
  • Parkland shooting

    Parkland shooting
    A gunman by the name of Nikolas Cruz, a 19 year old former student at Parkland, opened fire on Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. After dropping many hints about his love for guns and his motive to be the next school shooter, he killed 17, and injured 17 innocent people. Due to this mass shooting, possibly the biggest in history, school safety improved.
  • Moving to Affton

    Moving to Affton
    After roughly 4 years at Elwood, and an abundance of friends, my father decided to take a job in St. Louis, MO. I said goodbye to my friends and left my family. Even though I cried for weeks, I gained new friendships. This move ultimately made me into a more social person, someone in whom can adapt to new "environments" easier.
