    He was born on a friday in Nakjin, Okinawa, Japan. He had five brothers and sisters who had to live with relatives due to the poverty their parents were going through.

    Setsuko and Tatsuo are Koshiro´s oldest children. Both of them were born in Okinawa and lived there till 1940. Susana, Francisco, Jorge, Emilia and Horacio were born in Vicente Casares, Buenos Aires.

    Koshiro decided to travel to Buenos Aires in search of a new opportunity to start over a new life. He left his wife and two kids behind hopping one day to meet them again.

    Koshiro´s wife came to Buenos Aires alone by ship to meet with her husband. Her two older children stayed in Okinawa with relatives because they didn´t have enough money to bring them with her in those days.

    My father was Argentinian and he lived in Monte Grande all his life. Most of his life he´s been a butcher and the last time of his life he´s been working in factory.

    Emilia was born in Vicente Casares in Buenos Aires. She got married to Jorge Bartolini and they had 3 chidren, Dario, Veronica and I, Noelia.

    Setsuko and Tatsuo Oshiro were still living in Okinawa when the U.S invasion was unleashed. Both of them were under the care of some relatives and they had to take refuge into the caves in the mountains. They spent a lot of time there, and they had to eat bugs, such as caterpillars due to the starvation they were going through.

    Koshiro and Matsu´s chidren, Matsu and Setsuko, travelled by themselves by ship at the age of 20 and 17. They arrived in Buenos Aires to meet again with their parents, and also with their brothers and sisters who didn´t know them by then.

    In 1964, Koshiro and his family settle down in Monte Grande and they opened the first supermarket in that city. It was called "Oriente" and it was situated in Enrique Santamarina 256, where nowadays there is a disco called "Mua". Each of his children were in charge of one of the stores inside the supermarket.

    They did it secretly due to the fact that my grandfather, Koshiro didn´t want my mother to marry to an Argentinian man. So my parent´s friends helped them organizethe party in one of their house.

    On their wedding, my grandfather was absent because he was against their marriage. He just hoped my mother to get marry to a Japanese man.

    This is the house my parents built by themselves here in Monte Grande. I still live there with my mother and daughter.

    a.m. As I was the youngest in my family, everybody came to meet me.

    The ones that were holding me are Miguel and Cristina. They are my godparents but Miguel died a few months ago.

    It was in kindergarten number 903 in Monte Grande. Our classroom was the orange one and I didn´t have many friends because I was too shy.

    My father died in a car accident in Monte Grande when I was 12. It´s been a big lost in our family.

    I was attending at EEMNº1 United Nations in Monte Grande, eventhough I graduated in the Tomas Espora school in Temperley. In the United Nations school I met many people who are still my friends nowadays.

    This day we took our grandfather to Vicente Casares to visit the house they used to live in many years ago. This was his last visit before he die.

    Monday, 16th april 2001 at 12.30 p.m, my only child Leila was born. She is in 5th grade now and she is taller than me, although she is only 10 years!

    In Monte Grande, the government of the city of Buenos Aires, made a celebration for the Okinawan people. The reason was that they marked one century since they immigrate to Buenos Aires.

    This was my first day at the ISFDyT Nº35 in Monte Grande where I learnt more than I did in 10 years of studing English at privates institutes. It´s worth the effort we are doing..
