    The major goal of the tariff was to protect industries in the northern United States which were being driven out of business by low priced imported goods by taxing them.

    Anti-slavery novel by American author Harriet Beecher Stowe. Published in 1852, the novel helped lay the groundwork for the civil war.

    Bleeding kansas
    Bleeding Kansas started just as a measly voen to see if Kansas would be a free or a slave state, but then everyone fled to kansas trying to push the vote for there side but like all great arguements there's blood. Both sides were mad at the other because they were'nt on the same side.

    John Brown led a small army of 18 men into the small town of Harper's Ferry, Virginia. His plan was to instigate a major slave rebellion in the South.

    The Presidential elecion was upon us and Lincoln was against Stephen Douglass who suported popular soviergnty which most southern states loved but Licoln won anyways with his ideas of having a united nation that was free.
