Elie and Mioshe
Mioshe and Elie talk and enjoy eachother's company. Mioshe is expelled from Sighet, because he is a foreigner. -
Mioshe Returns
Mioshe warns the people of Sighet that the Nazis are coming, and that they plan to kill them. THe German army also advances, and gets closer to Sighet. Mioshe warns evveryone to leave, but the people can not face the reality of what they are being told and stay. -
Sighet is occupied by Germans and split into two ghettos

Sent to the Ghettos
All the Jews of Sighet are removed from their homes, and forced to live in Ghettos. -
Sent to Camp
The Jews of SIghet are removed from the Ghettos, and packed tightly into train cars to be sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp . -
Mrs. Schachter
Mrs. Schachter yells at everyone in the box car to look at the fire. She continues screaming and crying until some of the men in the car beat her and gag her to keep her quiet. -
Arrival at Auschwitz
The Jews arrive and are ordered into two lines (one for the boys and one for the girls.) Elie says goodbye to his sisters and mother, but doesn't know that the goodbye is forever. -
Move in Camp
Elie and his father are sent to Buna, where they are told to work in a warehouse. Things look alittle better for Elie and his father. -
Whipping
Elie wittnesses his Kapo (Idek) being intimante with a French prisoner. Elie recieves 25 lashes for laughing at the site. -
Multiple inmates are hanged, including a few very young inmates

Rosh Hashanah

Elie looses Faith
Seeing all the death around him, Elie wonders how his God could let this happen, and looses his faith. -
All prisoners are evacuated from Ausiwitz and moved to Buchenwald

Elie's father dies

Elie, along with the other Jews, are liberated
