This is important because it was the start of my entire life!
  • Younger Brother Born

    Younger Brother Born
My brother is my best friend, so this was important because I had an important person being added into my life.
  • Move to Arizona from New York

Move to Arizona from New York
Moving to Arizona was a big deal because it was across the country from what I knew the first few years of life and I believe I would be a completely different pereson if I was not raised here.
  • Met Neighbors and become friends with daughter

Meeting my neighbors is significant because they are close in my life then and still now. My best friend growing up was my neighbor and she just had a baby, so that is significant in my life to see our friendship go full circle.
  • Move elementary schools in 3rd grade

Move elementary schools in 3rd grade
Moving schools was a big deal because only half of my friends moved with me to the new school built closer to my home. Third grade was a toublesome year for me, as I was always getting in trouble.
  • In the hospital for poisonous bug bite

This was the first major incidence of me being in the hospital and was a scary time because my arm was swollen 5 times bigger than it should be and we had no idea what bug had bitten me and what to do to fix it.
  • Went to hospital for 2 weeks with viral meningitis

Meningitis is a serious illness that I had gotten only a few months after I had been in the hospital for the bug bite, This was a big year for me being sick. My illness was a step away from being bacterial, where I could have died. I also had my first spinal tap on this hospital visit and that was really scary for me and I will never forget it.
  • Death threat in 8th grade

This death threat made a huge impact in my life because for the first time I did not feel safe at school. I sat next to this girl in class eveyday and did not know what I did to make her so mad at me. I had to tell my teacher, but was scared to get her int trouble because I did not want her to make true of the threat. I just ended up moving seats and the problem subsided.
  • Start of 9th grade, lose group of friends

In 9th grade I came in with a large group of close friends, but as the year progressed everyone grew apart and slowly I had less and less people I surrounded myself with.
  • Second death threat in 10th grade

This death threat was more serious because the boy knew where I lived and had a previous history of threatening my group of friends. This time the threat was taking very seriously and I had to spend the next day in school with the police, prinicpal and administration. My parents wanted me to move schools and move from our house because he was that unsafe. This impacted me because I was and still to this day am scared of him.
  • 10th grade friendships

    10th grade friendships
Sophomore year of high school was a really hard year for me because after the threat at the beginning of the year, my friends slowly started to fade out of my life. Before I knew it I only had two close friends and this made me feel very lonely, but I knew I could always count on those two girls and they pushed me to stay at the school and make it through Sophomore year.
  • High School Graduation

This was the day I graduated high school. This was monumental for me because of all the hardship I went through all the years leading up to it. I felt accomplished and knew that at the end of it all I had made and kept true friends while weeding out all the bad ones.
  • Starting College

    Starting College
Going to ASU was a big deal because nobody in my family has ever attended college before. I get to be the first one to set a milestone in my family. This was the first year away from home and it was difficult at first, but I made it through and have made friends and a support system that I know will last me a life time.
  • Joining Sorority

    Joining Sorority
Joining my sorority, Chi Omega, is extremely detramental to my college career. I would not still be in a huge university if I did not have my sisters to help and guide me along the way. It has brought me out of my shell and made the the woman I am today. I know that the connections I have made will last a lifetime.
  • First Apartment

    First Apartment
This year I moved into my first apartment. It is quite different from the dorms and I feel that it has fgiven me more freedom and independence than the dorms did the previous two years. It is teaching me a lot of responsibility.
  • Start Teaching Program

    Start Teaching Program
This was my first day in the classroom as an intern. It had been a while since I had been in a class helping/teaching and it was good to feel that same love I had when I first started wanting to become a teacher. I know I am meant to do this and starting the teaching program is putting my foot in the right door to my future.
