  • An Arpanet network was established-

    An Arpanet network was established-
    Network between Harvard, MIT, and BBN (the company that created the
    "interface message processor" computers used to connect to the network) in 1970 was created.

    Developed by Ray Tomlinson, who also made the decision to use the "@" symbol to separate
    the user name from the computer name (which later on became the domain name)

    which would have no central control and would work around a transmission control protocol (which eventually became TCP/IP).

    The earliest form of multiplayer games was debuted- The precursor to World of Warcraft and Second Life was
    developed in 1979, and was called MUD (short for MultiUser Dungeon). MUDs were entirely text-based virtual worlds, combining
    elements of role-playing games, interactive, fiction, and online chat.

    was important in that it made addresses on the Internet more human-friendly compared to its numerical IP address counterparts.
    DNS servers allowed Internet users to type in an easy-to-remember domain name and then converted it to the IP address
    automatically.

    proposal from the year before, along with the standards for HTML, HTTP, and URLs.

    and, much like the first email explained what email was, its purpose was to explain what the World Wide Web was.

    ThinkGeek is an online store based around 'Geeky' merchandise, find things from Game of Thrones pins to Minecraft shirts. ThinkGeek has spy gear, survival gear, cooking equipment, and more.

    Pandora is an online radio, where users can select the genre of music they like, and dislike certain songs they dont, so that Pandora can make more persice music selections.
    It currently has 76.4 Million active users.

    Facebook,a social media site, was made to connect college students at Havard, but soon took off and is now used by people around the world to connect with their friends.
    It currently has 1.317 Billion active users

    Gmail is google's email, let's you connect to youtube, Google+, and more. Making a Gmail account will allow you to gain acess to GoogleDrive, an online free version of Microsoft office, blogspot, which lets a user create their own customised blog.
    Currently it has 425 Million users.

    Youtube is a video posting site, owned by google, which users can upload videos, subscribe to other peoples channels, and express their hatred for Justin Bieber in the comment section. Youtube helps people become famous and millionaires without even being good at acting, the youtuber with the most subscribers (30 million) made over 4 million dollars last year.

    The sims 3 though a computer game which can be bought online or in stores, now has more online ties than any sims games, it has an online exchange store, where players can trade items or houses that they have made, and the SimStore where players can buy exclusive items

    Happy Wheels is a web browser game in which a player controls a biker to go through obsticals. This game has been played by a huge amounts of youtubers, and countless numbers of kids.
