    During this campaign, Napoleon conquered most of Northern Italy for France. He managed to open Piedmont and force them on a retreat to win.

    Napoleon was defeated by the British navy and abandoned his troops in Egypt. He went home to France and told everyone they won. One positive out of it was that France came into possession of the Rosetta Stone.

    Napoleon played as the First Consul of France and reformed the educational system in France and developed the Napoleonic Code. He also negotiated the Concordat of 1801.

    Napoleon created the Banque de France and had economic recovery after the revolutionary period. Slowly, the economy revived from it and the bank lasted to present day. It was a huge success.

    Since Napoleon wanted to heal the divisions with the Catholic Church but his intent was to use the clergy to prop up his regime. Pope Pius VII renounced this act, and Napoleon put him under house arrest.

    The French Navy was defeated and though killing Lord Nelson in the process, it established British naval supremacy and destroyed Napoleon’s plans to invade England.

    Berlin Decrees, 4th coalition was created.
    This banned British ships in European ports, which led to the UK and its allies banning trades with France. Napoleon proclaimed any ship stopping in Britain would be seized when it entered the continent. This led to the war of 1812.

    Because Napoleon wanted to abolish the Holy Roman Empire and increase his control over Germany, he replaced it with the Confederation of the Rhine, which was a success.

    Napoleon stationed 100,000 troops in Madrid and on May 2, 1808, the Spanish rose up in rebellion. The next day, French troops fire on the crowd and British troops started helping Spain. After 5 years, France lost control of Spain.

    On June 22, 1815, Napoleon Bonaparte abdicated and Louis XVIII took over the throne. He lived the rest of his days on Saint Helena, a remote island in the Atlantic Ocean. After abdicating, many French lifestyles were restored.
