    Classical Era

    Classical Era
This piece of art best represents the Classical era because, mainly, the Greeks and Romans were really fascinated in the human body. For the second reason, the Greeks and Romans really specialized in sculptures. When you see a marble sculpture, you usually think back to the Classical era.

    Medieval Era

    Medieval Era
I believe that this painting most represents the Medieval Era because during the Medieval era, there were a lot of pieces that portrayed biblical themes, and this - of course - is of a biblical theme as well. This era was practically concentrated on God and that his perfection shouldn't be questioned.

    Renaissance Era

    Renaissance Era
This sculpture represents the Renaissance the best because of their values of art. They believed that they should put more detail, care and effort into each piece, gearing towards their focus on human achievement. In this era, they kind of focused more on man than on God and that may be why you see Jesus more of a 100% man with real bruises and cuts as opposed to a holy God unable to be harmed like they may have believed before this era.
  • Enlightenment Era

    Enlightenment Era
I chose this piece to represent the Enlightenment Era due to its focus on science as opposed to following the beliefs of God. In this painting, scientists fixated on scientific discoveries, advancements and beliefs instead of the reverence of God. People used naturalistic science as opposed to biblical explanations.
  • Romantic Era

    Romantic Era
I thought that this piece perfectly described the Romantic Era for many different reasons. To start off, the Romantics believed in following your heart instead of standing by reason and logic with restraint. "Following your heart" cliché, right? Anyway, this painting depicts a love for nature, imagination, freedom, love, emotion and love perfectly and that's what the Romantic era was all about.
  • Victorian Era

    Victorian Era
In this Victorian Era, people were pretty formal and they had strict systems for things like greeting people, walking down the street, and talking to someone they recognize down the street. Everything seemed to be running in a serious order. I think this painting represents this era because you can really see the blank expression of her face and she had absolutely no posing at all to at least give it a little pizazz. This era actually seems to be like the Enlightenment era.
  • Modern Era

    Modern Era
I chose this (what do I call this) piece of art to represent the Modern era due to its wacky shapes and colors. People in the Modern era really chose to experiment on new ways to create art such as new shapes, color combinations, and perspectives, anatomy etc.. Many times, they used this new way of art to express emotion, kind of like the Romantic era except a bit straight forward.
  • Post/Post postmodern era

    Post/Post postmodern era
The Post and Post Postmodern era both had the same worldview, so I put these two together like we did in class! These two eras really let go of all structure and art is literally all over the place. There are so many different art types such as anime, realism, scenic, cartoon, etc.. This picture to me really captures the ability to create anything that we desire because these eras were pretty much all about doing whatever is best for you.
