Tangier Smith- Teacher Assistant
I was hired by Nick Cassone to work as a Reading Teacher Assistant in November 1998. It was a brand new program created by Paul Casciano and Lisa Greiner. I worked with the ten most struggling 1st graders; very similiar to what the LLI teachers do now. -
2nd Grade Teacher
In May of 1999, Nick Cassone hired me to be a 2nd grade teacher for the upcoming 1999-2000 school year. -
Tenure Ceremony
I was the LAST out of 34 teachers to walk the stage to receive tenure. I was also 37 weeks pregnant with my first son, Jack. Paul Casciano thought it would be appropriate to end the ceremony with the "Fat Girl" although I was not singing across the stage! :) -
Masters Degree Stony Brook University
After taking an extension to take care of my son and buy a house; I completed my Masters Degree at Stony Brook.
