  • Disney's Extremely Goofy Skateboarding

    Disney's Extremely Goofy Skateboarding

This was the first game I ever spent lots of time in. It's an open-world skateboarding game with the aim of exploring the world and performing tricks. This game was pretty influential for me since it established games as something that I sit down with for long periods of time to just relax and have fun with which became a habit. Need For Speed: Carbon - Own the City (DS)

As my first introduction to racing games, NFS Carbon merged my two interests of games and cars together, and got me hooked on customisation in my games. Being on a handheld system, this also added to games being such a large part of my life since I was able to play it anywhere and spend so much time with them. • Sonic Adventure DX

    Sonic Adventure DX

Moving on from predominantly Movie-based kid games, this was one of the first more advanced games I ever played, and it built on my tendency for open-world games and introduced me to better storytelling and action gameplay, which has also molded my tastes for games since. • Conduit 2

    Conduit 2

As surprising Wii exclusive game, this was my introduction to the first-person shooter genre of games. I spent many a day after school playing this in splitscreen with my brother, and it really got me hooked on the genre. It even shaped my decision to choose XBox as my first HD console so that I would be able to play Halo. SEGA 2011, Conduit 2 box art. • Batman: Arkham City

    Batman: Arkham City

This was one of the first games I got for our family's new PC. It ran so poorly on our computer that cutscenes went in slow-motion, but I didn't care and loved the game regardless. It introduced me to games being a cinematic experience and brought me into the PC gaming realm proper with my purchase of a 750ti to boost performance. Warner Bros. • Fallout 4

    Fallout 4

As one of the first games for my new custom personal gaming PC, this game represented so much of what I've come to like in games. It has tons of customisation available, and it has a big open world with a wide variety of activities avaailable from story missions, to wandering, to base building, or even just trying wacky things out with console commands and modding.
