    First Trimester
    The first trimester is crucial for the development of the infant. This is known and described as the zygote and embryonic periods of prenatal development. All of the organs, nerve cells, and brain cells start to develop as well.

  • Second Trimester

    Second Trimester
    The fetus face will start to develop more of a human appearance. The hands and feet will also to start to become better formed. The eyelids are closed during this trimester and will stay closed until the next trimester. The mother will start to feel more movement from the baby. Works Cited:

  • Third Trimester

    Third Trimester
    The eyelids of the fetus are now open and completely formed. The baby can start to hear noises and and start to develop fingerprints. The baby will also start to get into the head down position getting ready for delivery. Works Cited:

  • Birth- 2 Weeks

    Birth- 2 Weeks
    The baby hits one of many big growth spurts in his/her life. Newborns need extra care and attention when it comes to sleeping, feeding, and peeing/pooping. Most babies will also gain quite a bit of weight during this time period due to all of the feeding. Works Cited:

  • Infancy: 1-12 months

    Infancy: 1-12 months
    The baby is starting to crawl and form words during this point. It is important to spend a lot of time around them and show them as much affection and attention as possible as it is crucial to their development.     Infancy: 12-18 Months
    The child will start developing more, new vocabulary and starts using other ways than just words to communicate such as, pointing or making different noises or different things.     Toddlerhood: 18-24 Months
    The baby will start to smile and giggle as time moves forward. They will also develop their first steps and first words. At this point they weigh about 17-30 pounds and they can indicate what they want and start to use their words to let their caregiver know.     By this point the child is feeling pretty confident in themselves and independent. They like to things on their own with help from nobody. Most of the time they enjoying exploring, touching new things and lots more. They have a good chance of getting into something they shouldn't.     At this stage of life children are extremely imaginative and are very eager to learn new things. They are starting to have a stronger language understanding and will try to have intelligent conversations.     Children at this age are energetic and ready to learn and participate in a lot more activities. They start to gain more friends, but they are still learning some social skills.     Adolescent Years: 10 Years Old
    Girls will begin puberty and boys will begin about a year later. There is also a large physical growth spurt occurring from the extremities towards the torso.     Primary and secondary sex characteristics occur during the adolescent years.
