    The Abbasid dynasty time period was known as the 'Golden age of Islam'. The Abbasids founded the city of Baghdad which came to be known as the most civilized and cultural city at that time. Greek and Latin texts were translated into Arabic. The most valuable items came to an end when the dynasty was attacked which were the books which held knowledge that had been collected by Muslims over the span of 500 years.

    The Fatimids were an Ismaili Shia caliphate. The empire stretched from Arabia in the east and all the way to Morocco in the west. They claimed descent from Fatimah Bint Muhammad, the daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Fatimids achieved great accomplishments in astronomy and built enormous astronomical towers such as Al-Jayush, built in Cairo.

    Ayubid dynasty was a dynasty of sultans in Egypt and Syria. This dynasty was found by Nuruddin Zengi who was a freed Turkish slave. Salahuddin al-Ayubi fought against the Christians and defeated them with courage and valor and conquered the state of Jerusalem. He was known as a very generous ruler

    Mamluk dynasty originated from Turks and Mongols. Mamluk dynasty was known as 'Slave Dynasty' because 'Mamluk' means slave in Arabic. Their empire covered Syria, Palestine and Egypt. It was founded by Sultan Qutbuddin Aibak. This was the first Muslim dynasty to rule India.

    The Safavid dynasty was one of the most important ruling dynasties of Iran. The Safavids made Iran a center of art, architecture, poetry, and philosophy. The Safavid Empire had an ideal geographic location for trade, a major export of the Safavid Empire was its raw silk and silk textiles. The Safavid dynasty declined due to the Ottoman empire.

    The Mughal dynasty was founded by Babar. This dynasty brought together many small kingdoms. Some of the major accomplishments included architecture and cultural aspects. Architecture included the Taj Mahal, Badshahi Mosque, and the Agra fortress. Cultural aspect were mainly paintings and new music. Mughals had strong economical power because they had good relations with the rest of the world which meant more trade.
