Magna Carta
This document was the first limits to the Kings power. It gave people protection from the Kings wrongful imprisonment. Although it wasn't much this was the first step towards civil rights. -
Jamestown
Jamestown was the first permanent English settlement in the Americas. Jamestow n was created to find gold and make money. This caused them to struggle the first few years a but with some help from the natives they managed to keep going by farming corn and other crops. They never found gold. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea party was what the patriots did to show the English that they weren't happy with the taxation without represention. During this the patriots dressed up as Indians and threw tea off a British cargo ship. This caused the intolerable acts. -

The LouisiAna purchase doubled the size of the United States. This purchase was made by Thomas Jefferson. It was in 1803. -

The civil war was the deadliest war for America. It was the north and the South fighting over slavery. The north won. -
