His mother Amina bint Wahb died after a returning journey from Yathrib leaving Muhammad orphaned. -

He would fast and meditate there. At one occasion he was visited by an overpowering presence and instructed to recite words of beauty and force. They were of so much beauty and force that Muhammad later attributed them with that of god, -

Muhammad returned to Mecca once again, tens of thousands of muslims followed him. After the pilgrimage he returned to Medina. -

Muhammad spent 6 years in Mecca creating what would later be called the Muslim religion. -
Mecca's reaction
Mecca had no favor in Muhammads success with his religion, Skirmishes soon led to 3 major battles throughout the next 3 years. The first was won by the Muslisms, the second was lost. and they outlasted the third. In 628 a treaty was signed which was later broken by meccas allies
