Muhammad was born in 570 in town called Mecca. his name dervies from the Arabic verb hamada. It means to praise or to glorify.

In 575 Muhammed went to Yathrib with his mother to stay with his relatives and visit his father's grave.On the way back to Mecca Mahammed's mother got sick and died. Then he stayed with his grandfather.

as Mecca became more weathly and powerful Muhammad was disturbed with Mecca's materialism and its traditional idolatry. so Muhammad started going on retreats to a mountain cave. Where he prayed and fasted. One day he recieved a message from his tribe.

later mahhamad started to reaveal the messages to his tribe. they gathered the messages and later it became the Qur'an, Islam's scripture. They were persecuted and physically attacked for not following Mecca's tribal ways. toward the end of the decade Muhammad's wife and uncle died the leaders of Mecca also attempted to assasinate Muhammad

Muhammad andhis follows left Mecca and traveled to Yathrib the town where his father was buried.They invited a man known for his wisdom to mediator them. Soon Yathrib became Medina, the City of the Prophet.Muhammed stayed there for six years building the fist muslim community.

one day in January Muhammad and his tribe marched on Mecca. They walked through Mecca without anything happen. Instead the Meccans joined them.

Muhammad lived in Medina for the next three years. In March of 632 he visited Mecca and perfomed a pligrimage and a bunch of Muslims joined him.

On June 8,632 Muhammad diedof an illnes. He was buried in the mosque in Medina. His ways spread from Arabia to Indo-china and Morroco

In 580 Muhammed got a job as a sherperd to pay his keep. In his teens year from the years of 580-590 he would travel with Abu Talib who was a craft merchant and help him.

A widow named Khadija bint Khawalayd asked Muhammed to carry her goods to thenortha and return them with profit. Impressed with Muhammad she proposed for marriage. He was 25 she was 40.

from 595 through 690 Muhammad still succsesfully worked as a merchant and had six children two sons,and four daughters but the sons died in infancy.

In march of 628 both sides signed a treaty which recongnized the Muslims as the new Arabia andgave them freedom to move throughout Arabia.
