Muhammad was born in the year 570 AD in the town of Mecca.

When Muhammad was only 5 years old, his mother became ill and died and he became an orphan.

Muhammad began to go on journeys and retreats out of town. While he was there he began fasting an meditating. While doing so he was apparently visited by an overwhelming Godly spirit.

After 3 years of learning about his new found findings, he decided it was time to share this teachings with his tribes. Also, these were the teachings that would eventually be seen in the Qur'an.

Muhammad and his few hundred followers left Mecca for Yathrib. Yathrib soon became known as Medina "CIty of the Prophet."

He died after suffering fom a brief ilness, but his image is still remmbered and his teachings live on forever today.

IN his early twenties, he became a merchant to a widow named Khadija. He would carry good for her in order to earn wages.

In 595 he was proposed to by his boss who was nearly 40 years old at the time. They bore 6 children and were fairly happen together.
