Muhammad was born in Makkah. It was a fairly rich city, due to the trading there.

Baby Muhammad was sent to live with a family of nomads.

In these years, young Muhammad tended the livestock. When he was 12 years old, he went with uncle on a trading journey. They traveled to northern Syria. He gained his first experiences outside of Arabia. He took on more duties and worked for a trading business.

Muhammad got married to a widow named Khadijah. They had 5 daughters. He started managing caravans for her.

Muhammad made his living as a merchant.
He was somewhat bothered about the effects of wealth and the worship of idols in his city. -
This year, he went to meditate in a small cave in the mountains. He received a call from God. He was told to be a prophet of Allah. Then the angel Gabriel came to Muhammad, and they had an intense meeting.

The powerful clans of Makkah started to boycott Muhammad’s followers, so they would give up Islam. They were threatened with starvation. The boycott failed to work. Unfortunately, Khadijah and Abu Talib died in these years.

There was a Night Journey in which a winged horse took him to the city of Jerusalem. Muhammad met the earlier prophets and prayed with them. Muhammed also met Allah.

Muhammad and his followers decided to move to a town called Yathrib. They moved there because it would be unsafe to stay in Makkah. Yathrib was later renamed to Madinah.

Fighting Broke out between Makkah and Madinah.

Makkah tried to siege Madinah but failed to destroy the city. They failed to capture the city.

This year, Muhammad began to preach the other Makkans. He taught to worship only one God, Allah, and that all believers in God were equal.

The Makkan troops that were to destroy Madinah were converted to Islam. There was a truce that Islam was able to spread to Makkah.

Unfortunately, the truce was broken. Muhammad’s army marched into Makkah, and the city leaders surrendered without a battle.

Muhammad and his followers went to destroy the other idols at the Ka’bah to rededicate the shrine to Allah.

Muhammad spread Islam in Makkah. He spread the Qur’an.

He delivered his last message to his people.

Muhammad died of fever.
