German art movement which focussed on decorative motifs and industrial design. The making of objects was an important social pursuit and needed to follow a functional aesthetic. Architecture was a key fcus and this movement was the forerunner to modern art and design. Not only was it a movement, but it was also a school - a system of belief that taight what i practiced. Founded by Wlater Gropier and also linked to famous artists such as Hannes Meyer and Ludwig Mies Van de Rohe.
