Impressment commonly called "Press Gang" was an effective yet cruel practice used by the British to accumulate man power in their navy. British solders would board American ships and accuse them of being deserters to the royal navy. The "Press Gangs" would also patrol British ports and force men to join to the navy. Between 1793 and 1812 the British impressed nearly 15,000 seamen for their war with France. Americans were outraged that their basic rights were being ignored and called for war

The British and the native tribes were retreating up the Thames for supplies after a series of attacks on American forts when they held their finale stand against the American forces. The Americans planned to attack the British and force them to retreat hoping it would crush the Indian moral and send them retreating as well. Within 5 minutes of the American attack the British retreated but the Indians tried to fight off the Americans where Tecumseh was killed which led to the tribes to disband.

The Hartford Convention was a convention of the New England Federalists held in order to address the negative affects of the War of 1812 on the New England economy. The Federalists had always opposed the war, but this was an unpopular opinion in America at the time. For this reason, the Hartford Convention damaged the reputation of the Federalist party, and largely caused it to dissolve after the War of 1812.
