Miss Thang & The Boys Is Mines
At age 11 , Monica was discovered by a music producer at the Center Stage in Allanta. While at the Center Stage, Monica was preforming with Whitney Houston. Everyone was amazed with her voice, Moncia began writting and proforming music. -
First Debut
In 1995 Monica first debt Miss Thang , scored number 36 on U.S Billboards, and number 7 on Top R&B Artist chart. Making Monica the youngest artist to ever have two consecutive chart-toppings on the U.S Billboards. -
Biggest Hit
Moncia teamed up with singer Brandy and producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins to record "The Boy Is Mines". This was the biggest single from both of thier second albums. Also the biggest hit in the summer, and the biggest hit in 1998 in general in America. -
Troublesome
Monica's career saw troubles in 1999 & in 2000, dealing with personal tribulations. Which dealt with the suicide of her boyfriend Jarvis "Knot" Weems. It is said that Weems shot himself to death. -
Reaching The Top
In June Monica released her album ''After The Storm". Her album was debuted on Billboards on Top of R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart. By this being her first album Monica received a gold certification, and had sold over one million copies of "After The Storm".
