Sheikh Hasina Wajed was elected to be the Prime Minister of Bangladesh in late July of 2009. She is Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's daughter.

In January of 2010, Sri Lanka held its annual presidental election. Mahinda Percy Rajapaksa became the president and he is still currently ruling.
