New Reglations for Presidios
On Febuary 1768 a man named Marquis de Rubis filled a report for the New Regulatoins for Presidios. It took four years to publish. He helped make those regulations. -
Philip Nolan
Philip Nolan came to Texas in the 1790's. He captured mustangs and made maps in Texas area. He was orderd to be arrested in 1800. After thathe went on another expedition and died in a fight with a spanish soldier. -
Grito De Dolores
On September16, 1810 Father Hidalgo made a speech known as Grito De Dolores. After that he was captured and degraded from preisthood. He later mas shot and killed as a rebel on July 31 or August 1, 1811. -
Jose
Jose and his brother were succseful in forming a revolution in Nuevo Santander. He then left Saltillo on March 17,1811 to get aid and supplies.He was later captured and got out with help. In January 1812 he made plans to free/ liberate Texas from Mexico. In April 1812 he set out to Texas. -
Magee and his forces occupy Trinidad
On August 12,1812 Magee enters Nacogdoches. He lft with some loot of sosomeone.The force occupied Trinidad. Then Magee became very ill. He died on Febuary 6, 1813 -
Battle de Medina
The Battle de Medina was the bloodiest battle fought in Texas. Texa's independence was short-lived during that time. No one has found where the battle site was. -
Jean Lafitte
Jean established a colony in the Galveston area. He established his colony on 1817. But then he had to leave on 1821 because of the USS Enterprise. -
Dr.James Long, Texas
I 1819 Dr.James Long was talked into a filisbustering expedition. The expedition was to conqer Texas. Long was the commander. -
Mexico City. Dr.James Long
After Long gave a final surrender in 1822. Dr.James Long was taken to Mexico City to plead his case. Before that he was impisoned in SanAntonio for a time and in Monterry. -
Dr.James Long killed
On April 8,1822 Dr.James Long was killed . He was shot by a guard. The guard said it was an accident. But there was evidence that guard was hired to kill Long -
Mexican constitution
On 1824 Mexico published it's constitution. It was similar to the U.S.a's constitution and of Spain's also. It let each stae have their own constitution,but it had to be in harmony with the Mexican Federal Cnstitution. -
State Colonization Law
That state colonization law became the basis of all colonization cotracts in Texas. Exept for Austin's first contract.Congress then decided not to make any major changes to the policy before 1840. -
Merger of Coahulia Y Texas
On August 18, 1824 the Immperial Colonization Law helped merg Texas and Coahulia.It also determined of how people got land. The law also allowed no immigration of slaves. -
State Constitution (Coahuila y Texas)
The state constitution for Texas and Coahuila and Texas was orginized on August 1824. It was published on March 11,1827. The catholic religion was the main religion in that state constitution.
