  • Jose Morelos' Capture and Execution

    Jose Morelos' Capture and Execution
    Priest who led the Mexican War of Independence Movement. Jose was later captured and killed in his home country of Mexico.
  • Plan of Iguala

    Plan of Iguala
    Agustín de Iturbide released the Plan of Iguala to Mexico, which promised three things:
    • Equal rights to every Mexican
    • Iturbide becomes leader
    • Christian is the main religion
    Iturbide was later impeached by the people of Mexico in 1823.
  • Mexico becomes a Republic

    Mexico becomes a Republic
    Mexico becomes a Republic, which means the people decide the big decisions.
  • Battle of the Alamo

    Battle of the Alamo
    The Texans, who were controlled by Mexico at that time, were sick of unfair treatment from Antonio López de Santa Anna. They all invaded Mexico, and took Texas from Mexico by force. This battle was very short, and only lasted 12 days.

    Maximilian, an Austrian prince, invaded Mexico and was made leader of Mexico in 1864. He was later executed by the Mexican Government in 1867 due to his poor leadership.

    Fransisco Madero calls all Mexicans to overthrow Porfirio Diaz in 1910, due to their unfair treatment. Diaz was successfully overthrown, and traveled to France where he died in exile.
