The battle of Chapultepec was a very fierce and brutal battle due to the fact that no weapons were used and they were forced to do hand-to-hand combat, this was due because since it was a training base the Mexican Army weren't well equipped and the Americans had to climb a wall in order to get in. When all hope was lost General Santa Anna surrender ending the War. This event is one of the most important because this was finally the end of the Mexican-American War.

The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo that brought an official end to the Mexican-American War was signed at Guadalupe Hidalgo, The terms of the treaty was Mexico were to give up 55% of their territory including California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Colorado and Wyoming. Another term was the border for Texas was to be set at the Rio Grande river. I Believe that this is important because this was the official end of the war
